Gum Gum socks are crocheted using at least two skeins of sock yarn. The special way the two colors are worked creates a fantastic spiral pattern that runs all around the sock. I usually use 4-ply sock yarn, but you can also use other yarn weights if you adjust your size and stitch count accordingly.

🧶 Crochet pattern for the funny spider
With this crochet pattern, you have a choice: you can crochet the spider at your own pace using the PDF pattern or follow along directly with my video tutorial on YouTube.
The PDF pattern is illustrated and guides you through the crochet project step by step.
The special thing about this spider: The individual parts are crocheted directly on and do not need to be sewn together. This makes crocheting easier and saves you quite a bit of fiddly work at the end.
The pattern is therefore also great for beginners.

Cotton or chenille yarn?
You can use a wide variety of yarn for your spider.
With cotton yarn, the spider becomes nice and sturdy. The legs can still be positioned flexibly, and you can keep setting your spider up in different ways.
If you prefer it soft and cuddly, you can also use chenille yarn. This gives the spider a completely different look and makes it nice and fluffy.
Of course, you can also try out your favorite yarn and create your own unique spider.
The finished spider will be approximately 7–8 cm tall – not including the legs.
The size may vary slightly depending on different yarns and crochet hook sizes.

2.0 or 2.5 mm crochet hook
